Sporting a unique 2006 Corojo wrapper, Prensado was completely built around its limited, Honduran-grown wrapper leaf and earned a whopping 96 points by Cigar Aficionado in addition to No. 1 Cigar of the Year Honors for 2011. Prensado comes box-pressed, and features a fantastic blend of Nicaraguan and Honduran premium long leaf tobaccos. The blend burns slow, even, and exudes flavorful nuances of chocolate mixed with toasty notes of leather and earth. The first inch will leave an intense, spicy character on your palate before slightly mellowing out by delivering some sweet notes that are to die for. Medium to full-bodied, enjoy this blend in the afternoon or after your favorite meal. Handcrafted at the Alec Bradley facility in Danli, Honduras, the Prensado is an expert blend of Nicaraguan and Honduran long filler, a Nicaraguan Jalapa binder, and finished with a special “Trojes” Corojo 2006 wrapper. This robust, savory combination creates a complex flavor featuring hints of coffee, chocolate and spice. Unique and captivating, the Prensado was named the best cigar of 2011 with an unprecedented 96 rating in Cigar Aficionado.

A nice change of pace, from my normal rotation. Generally rolled well. Nutty and a bit citrusy. (Yes, that’s a word now.) Always a welcome addition to my humidor. The Robusto and Churchill sizes are the ones I like best.
