Carrillo Pledge is handcrafted in the Dominican Republic by Ernest Perez-Carrillo. This blend utilizes a premium blend of Nicaraguan filler tobaccos, an Ecuadorian binder, and finished with a dark, rich, and oily Connecticut Havana seed wrapper. Wonderfully constructed with a rich full body showcasing notes of black cherry, leather, candied almonds, and coffee followed by a long finish with undertones of black pepper and cinnamon.

This was probably the 1st cigar of the year that I ever smoked and right away agreed with that ranking and rating. Just a superb smoke and well constructed. I love sweet nutty/fruity notes in it and I always enjoy leather too. Like everyone else I know, I would recommend this cigar any day.

Excellent cigar. Well-deserved COTY. Medium strength and medium+ bodied. Creamy, sweet cocoa flavors. Definitely a dessert stick. Perfectly box pressed. I can’t get enough of these.

After anticipating this release all Summer, I was happy to be able to get my hands on the Robusto (Prequel) quickly upon release. Pledge certainly lives up to expectations and is a great addition to the stable of cigars offered by EP Carrillo. If, like me, you liked La Historia and/or Encore, you will love Pledge. It has a hint of molasses sweetness throughout along with sweet cocoa and even a fruity/sweet vegetal quality at times. It was very smooth throughout with plumes of smoke and a perfect draw. I will certainly be keeping this available in my humidor going forward.
