La Mission du L’Atelier cigars were named No.4 Cigar of the Year 2020 by Cigar Aficionado with an impressive 96-Rating on the Top 25 Cigars of the Year 2020 list. La Mission du L’Atelier cigars are medium to full bodied, inspired by the strong and hearty wines of France. These cigars are meticulously handcrafted to perfection at the My Father factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. La Mission du L’Atelier cigars are filled with a superbly aged, blend of Nicaraguan long-fillers that include the prestigious Sancti Spiritus leaf, and finished with an oily Mexican San Andres wrapper. The La Mission comes box-pressed and has a pigtail cap, and carries a robust flavor profile of complex notes including coffee, chocolate, leather, cedar, and spices.

This is one of the most unique cigars you will ever smoke. Although it’s considered full-bodied, they are incredibly smooth. The real winner is the unique flavor. I’m not sure if it comes from the Sancti Spiritus lead they use, but you don’t only get the expected notes of leather, chocolate, and coffee, but there is a spice/ almost herbal undertone (and when I say herbal, I mean it in the best way possible). It’s not a dominant note, nor is it offputting at all. It just leaves you thinking -Wow, I’ve never smoked a cigar like this, and I like it! It’s just one of those cigars you have to try, at least once.

Smooth full bodied cigar. Good draw and burn with mild spice on the draw and finish. Had to relight at the halfway point.
